Baron Davis signs a 4 year deal to endorse Li Ning footwear and clothing. The line will be exclusively sold in China, with a possible chance of making it to the US.
Li Ning also has Shaq and Yao Ming as brand endorsers. This is not the first in a NBA star striking a deal with a Chinese company. Jason Kidd from the New Jersey Nets also signed a deal with Peak back in August.
Fantastic!! If it's sports and It's global, I'm on it!!
Q & A
Do you think Baron should have struck a deal with a struggling American footwear company to help a domestic brand and it's revenue here?
OR
Is this global endorsement deal good to generate popularity for the NBA?
Baron did the right thing for HIMSELF. Why wouldn't anyone want extra revenue coming in, especially if it will not damage your image in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteDid Baron do this to help market the NBA? Clearly not. Its all about making the bucks, in this case the yuan.
